Helper picker
Not every helper fits every job. A sore knee belongs with the doctor, bread with the baker. Which helper does your child pick?
With a toddler you read the lines slowly, then your child points at the right picture. A preschooler can click themselves; encourage them to explain why they picked that helper. Stuck on the trickier questions? Remind them it is not about who or what appears in the story, but about the job that needs doing.
Why pick a helper?
In the digital world, smart helpers work closely together. Send a sore knee to the baker? You will not get a bandage. Take a sick giraffe to the GP? They will not know what to do. Learning which helper fits which task is the very first step in working with technology.
On your phone or in a chat window it works the same way. The calculator adds, Maps knows the route, a drawing app makes a picture. Ask Maps for a bedtime story and you will not get an adventure. You now choose between AI agents and tools in the same way: one writes, another draws or checks; you decide which helper gets the question.
Sometimes two helpers need to work together, just like a picture book: one writes the lines, the other draws the pictures. At home you do that when you look up a recipe on your phone, mix with the Magimix and bake in the oven. The question is not whether the computer is allowed. The question is: what is the job, and which helper fits.
